Why gamers should look at the gamefly free trial offer
December 9, 2013
Not long ago, I read that the new Superman actor Henry Cavill is actually quite a gamer. He is apparently into MMOs, and in a recent talk show he said he was playing World of Warcraft when he got the call that he was given the role of Superman. Who would’ve figured?
In this day and age, quite a few people you’d never suspect are actually avid gamers. I really believe that gaming, one reserved for nerds and unathletic types, has truly become a mainstream activity that just about everyone enjoys. The industry itself has grown by leaps and bounds. It is said that that worldwide, the gaming industry takes in 93 billion dollars a year. Without a doubt, video games have become one of the top forms of entertainment in the modern age.
I can understand why revenues are so huge. Take a game like Grand Theft Auto 5, for example, which was recently released in many platforms including Xbox and Playstation. This one game alone has a retail price of $59.99. If you just buy a half dozen games a year, your gaming hobby has a cost of $300 or more. And that’s not even taking into consideration the cost of the gaming console.
So what are budget minded gamers to do? Renting games seems to be the answer for many people like myself. These days, it’s possible to rent games from Redbox for just $2 a day, and this is definitely relatively cheap. However, I don’t like the fact that this rate stacks up, and you are therefore pressured to return the game quickly. I’d rather keep a game at my leisure and not worry about racking up fees.
The ideal solution for me has therefore been an online service called Gamefly. This online game rental service allows me to take out 2 games at a time, and the great news is that I can keep them for as long as I like. I’ve kept games from Gamefly for as long as 6 months without a problem. When you no longer want a game, you simply send it back and you are immediately sent the next game in your queue. If you don’t have money to burn, and still like to check out all the great new video games that are constantly coming out, I highly encourage you to check out Gamefly. There is a 10-day gamefly free trial available if you go to this link – http://freetrialspot.com/gamefly.php
Pros and Cons of Inkjet Printers
October 25, 2013
If you’re in the market for a new printer, you may be considering buying an inkjet printer. After all, they are cheaper than laser printers, and seem to do a pretty good job at printing things like photos. Before you invest in an inkjet printer, however, you should know what some of the pros and cons are of buying this kind of printer.
Price: Compared to laser printers, Inkjet printers are much cheaper. If you go to Office Depot or places like Walmart, you will find printers in the $50, $60, or $70 range. While you’re price shopping, be sure to get price on how much the ink cartridges cost as well. Depending on the printer, you use, inkjet cartridges can end up being quite costly. One way to cut down on ink costs is by using ink promo codes and other online ink shops.
Quality photo printing: This is one area where inkjet printers are clearly superior to laser printers. If you plan to print plenty of photos with your printer, then choose a high quality inkjet printer. HP, Epson, and Canon are all good brands to consider.
Selection: There are so many brands and models of inkjet printers that you’ll be able to find one that suits your exact needs, no matter what your budget is.
Speed: Let’s say you need to print a 100-page document. A laser printer might spit something like this out in a couple minutes, but with an inkjet printer, prepare yourself for a long wait. This is why many people who use a printer for businesses opt for laser printers, since their speed can’t be beat.
All said, inkjet printers are a must-have device for most home computer users. If you’re buying a printer for business purposes, however, a laser printer could prove to be a better investment.

Speed Dating vs. Eharmony
July 26, 2013
There are so many ways to meet people these days, and two that I tried recently are speed dating and eHarmony. Both can be fun, but overall, I believe that eHarmony is a better choice for people who are serious about finding a partner.
Speed dating was very fast paced. I had speed-dates with about 9 people, and each date lasted 8 minutes. It gets a bit overwhelming if you aren’t a good talker and a people person. Nevertheless, if you like meeting a diverse group of people who are single and available, speed dating is definitely and quick and easy way to do that. The events generally cost about $30 or more, and meetings often take place in a bar or restaurant. I found the experience to be enjoyable, but mentally tiring as well. If you’re interested in trying speed dating, I recommend using 8 minute dating service.
eHarmony, on the other hand, is much more structured. I had to complete a long questionnaire just to join the site. As you probably know, the eHarmony site then delivers matches to you every day, based on your personality. If the saying “quality over quantity” appeals to you, you may like eHarmony. You won’t have the chance to interact with hundreds of people as you might on a site such as Match.com, however, the matches you do get will generally be high quality because they have been prescreened and selected by the eHarmony matchmatching system, which takes something like 29 dimensions of compatibility into consideration.
If you are adventurous, I encourage you to try both methods. Depending on your personality, you may prefer one over the other. Speed Dating will require an upfront free. On the other hand, you can get a free account at eHarmony at http://Onlinedatingtrials.com/eharmony.php, which gives you access to limited features. This eharmony free trial which will allow you to check out the site and get a feel for what eHarmony is all about.
A review of SWTOR
July 5, 2013
As you may have heard, SWTOR (aka Star Wars: The Old Republic) became free to play about a year ago. This article is my review of this massively multiplayer game.
If you like role-playing games, you will likely enjoy SWTOR quite a bit. The game is more engaging on a story level compared to other MMORPGs due to the fact that all NPC dialogue is voiced. On the other hand, if your one of those impatient players who wishes to reach the maximum level as quickly as possible, the voiced dialogue may seem a bit tedious to you.
Players can select an allegiance, and right now there is the Republic and Sith Empire to choose from. Within each group, there are 4 characters to choose from. The most popular classes are Jedi and Sith classes, as those players get to use lightsabers. However, from my own testing, I find the bounty hunter class to be easiest to play.
There are some restrictions to a free to play account, and chances are, if you are a serious player, you will want to upgrade to a paid account to take advantage of the benefits. Each class has an independent storyline, so you should be able to play through the entire game at least 8 times before exhausting the various story arcs. If you are really gung-ho about this game, you can of course purchase strategy guides and leveling guides. Go to swtorbonanza.com to check out the top gaming guides for SWTOR.
On the whole SWTOR is an excellent game. If you’re tired of other MMOGs like World of Warcraft, but don’t want to stray too far away from the RPG gaming model, SWTOR is a great game to try out.
